Love … the surprisingly moisturising formula – no NARS lip product has worked for me this well. This Lip Lacquer feels slightly sticky and more like a thick balm on the lips, has impressive staying power, doesn’t bleed as I had expected, and has a texture that reminds me of Nutella! The colour is simply divine – what a gorgeous, gorgeous red! Diablo is the kind of red that will flatter most skin tone – not too orange, not too blue – it’s the colour of a juicy, ripe watermelon – though I do wish that it had more shine to it (being a Lip Lacquer and all). Start with a sheer crimson stain, or build up the red to its candy-apple glory. And when you do, expect the prettiest red you’ve ever laid eyes on – this is the red in Red Luscious Lips!
But - I do wish that the people at NARS had thought longer and harder to package this. All that gorgeous colour sitting in the pot calls for brush application, which can be a bit of a pain – this means I have to carry a brush every time I throw this in my handbag?!? Yes, you can try applying it using your fingers, but it comes out as pretty messy.
And there’s a slightly funny smell to the product that reminds me of the lipsticks of the 80s – not very nice.
Wear it … on New Year’s Eve.
