See pores run with Benefit Porefessional

Because I’m still very much in love with my L’Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base, this primer has kind of taken a back seat. But this is it, my long-overdue review of The Porefessional by Benefit Cosmetics.

Like most good primers today, this silicone-based primer itself is lightweight and oil-free. Its main aim – as is stated by its name, is to work on ginormous pores and make them less obvious.

You can use The Porefessional two ways – one as your standard primer beneath make-up (it will work on sebum production – yup, control dem pores) or use it over make-up during the day to mattify the skin.

As a primer, I’m not too impressed with it. The Porefessional doesn’t seem to have that much of a hold on make-up, so I’ve been using this mainly over my colours, and I must say that it’s found a place in my bag for quick touch-ups after lunch or before events.

I like The Porefessional is because firstly, it doesn’t leave any nasty whitish cast on my skin. You only need to apply on targeted areas – for me, this means mainly my nose and cheeks. It’s also great for below the eye area and eyelids after a long, “oily” day.

The product itself is lightly tinted, but the tint disappears once you apply it on. The texture is very light, and it feels silky on the skin – and goodness, this blends in like a dream – you can do it with your eyes closed in a moving car and still come out looking perfect! We’re talking smoothed, softened skin because this stuff blurs lines and imperfections – and almost, almost make pores disappear. Oiliness is subdued and overactive sebum is controlled.

While you shouldn’t expect something miraculous to happen, you’ll have enough going to keep you and your skin happy the rest of the day!

guess this is one of those makeup bases that’s perfect for no makeup days rather than for makeup. Looks good!
