Are you wearing too much make-up?
A little hint on make-up overload, taken from the April 2010 issue of Glamour magazine.
You know you’re wearing too much if …
1. The colour of your neck doesn’t match your face. Foundation that’s too light or dark (or just too thick) looks like a mask.
2. Your fingers are clean. Don’t underestimate the power of blending. It’s the only way to create a natural finish.
3. You walk over to a window with a hand mirror and give yourself a heart attack. Every beauty editor knows: Natural light never lie.
4. None of your features pops. A bold lip, dark eye and major blush are overkill. Tone down two and you’re good to go.
5. There’s lipstick on your teeth. It means you’ve applied it too thickly. If you’re going bold, layer on thin coats of colour.
6. You used every shade in the eyeshadow compact. You might buy four together, but please don’t wear them all at once.
Do you agree?

Agree with all except #6!
I usually wear about 3-4 eyeshadow colors for “normal” looks and up to 8 colors. I’ve actually worn the rainbow on my eyes before
But of course, using many eyeshadow colors wouldn’t be a good idea for beginners
agree with #1! most ppl tend to have that problem (including me!)
i second Connie on #6.
It’s good if you’re a makeup pro but not so much if you’re a beginner! look mighty messy?
Plue and Connie, I still have that problem (#1)! And I agree with what you say about #6 – when you’re a super-expert (like Connie!), you’re a master at blending, so piling on colours won’t be a problem.
What do you do when in your NATURAL state (sans foundation) your damned face is still a different tone from your neck? Not only is my face fairer, my neck is YELLOWER. I’ve taken to using whitening products only on my neck. It seems to be helping a bit.
You know what, I will pose this question to the next make-up artist I meet!!
