Red of the day: Nars Lipstick in Trans Siberian

Love … that the colour is true – what you see is what you get. The semi-matte texture is fabulous, and is still creamy enough for normal lips to handle. Perfect staying power, it fades beautifully to a red – not pink, not orange. Although described as a ruby rose in the Nars website, be warned, Trans Siberian might end up looking more of a brick red on some skin tones – like it did on mine.

Wear it … with gold eyes.

  • Cheeks: Estée Lauder Signature Silky Powder Blush in Nude Rose.
  • Eyes: Kate Line Spicy eye shadow palette in BR-1, Rimmel The Max Volume Flash Mascara in Black.

Hi YJia – Thanks! I think it’s all about the texture of the lipstick. Most of my reds are creamy but still waxy enough, so they don’t normally bleed. I’d suggest using a bit of concealer on your lips to keep the colour on. Also, use a lip balm before your lipstick, but only apply your colour after the lip balm has disappeared. I sometimes blot my lips with tissue to remove excess balm, then apply colour. Hope that helps!
