Some friends made my day yesterday when they commented on the state of my skin. Nice things were said, and one of the words used was “radiant”.

Believe me, I am as shocked as you are, God only know that it’s been an awfully long time since my last facial, and I can’t remember the last time I had a good night’s sleep! The first thing I did was to quickly do a mental checklist on the new products I’ve tried recently, and two came to mind – PeterThomasRoth’s Un-Wrinkle serum, and Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir.

Maybe they’re the perfect combination, I don’t know. But I do know that I am absolutely loving the Beauty Elixir.

Caudalie is a French brand that bases its skincare on the wonderful antioxidant benefits of grape seed. All of its products contain grape seed polyphenols. Caudalie also have its luxurious Vinotherapie Spas in Europe and New York that offer amazing grape-inspired menus.

Speaking of inspiration, according to the press release, the Beauty Elixir was inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s “youth elixir”. This toner/light serum is the brand’s star product, and let me tell you, hits the skin quite strongly the very first time you spritz it on – it’s like having ice-cold water sprayed on your face. And I think it must be one of the best spray pumps in a bottle, because the misting is just so perfectly even.

It’s truly invigorating, and does good things to your skin – ingredients like grape extracts, rosemary, organic balm mint and mint essential oils work to smooth out skin, tighten pores, and – there’s that word again – add radiance to the complexion. You can also use it between foundation and powder to set make-up.

It cools, refreshes, hydrates skin like no other toner I know, and you know what – bring it along on a beach holiday, and keep it chilled in-between uses. It’ll be such a refreshing skin boost!
